Farmers Market Treats for Valentine's Day

This Valentine’s Day, indulge your loved ones and yourself with locally grown flowers and handcrafted treats from CUESA’s farmers markets. There are many opportunities to show your local love at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; Jack London Square Farmers Market on Sundays; and Mission Community Market on Thursdays (returning on February 14!).

At the Saturday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, satisfy their sweet tooth with seasonal cookies and cakes from Batter Bakery, treats from Craftsman and Wolves, handcrafted cheesecake from Crumble and Whisk; award-winning apple cider caramels from Little Apple Granola, and scrumptous pies from Three Babes BakeshopBisou Chocolate will bring hand-rolled truffles and small-batch dark chocolate bars made in the East Bay using sustainably sourced beans.

Mission Community Market returns on February 14, and you’ll find sweet treats from Marla Bakery and Flour Chylde Bakery, and honey from City Bees. You’ll also find vegan body care at En Vie Naturals and crystals and jewlery at Dive into Divinity. CUESA will also be offering Valentine making fun at the Kids’ Corner.

For a sweet Sunday at Jack London Square Farmers Market, Dot’s Baking Pantry and Feel Good Bakery always have something delicious and made with love. Way to Life Foods has Cacao Granola Bark, and Bisou Chocolate has made-in-the-East-Bay chocolates.

Honey for your honey? Show some love for local bees and beekeepers, too, by visiting from Marshall’s Farm Natural Honey, Snyders Honey, City Bees, and the Honey Ladies.

Roses are red…but out of season and unsustainable. Instead, choose beautiful freshly picked tulips, ranunculi, anemones, flowering branches, and other local, seasonal, and sustainably grown flowers from Cypress Flower Farm, Devoto Gardens, McGinnis Ranch, and Brookside Orchids at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, and Medrano’s Flowers at our Jack London Square and Mission markets. Find out why locally grown cut flowers are a cut above the rest.

At the Ferry Plaza, slurp some fresh Hog Island oysters and a dash of hot sauce from Tierra Vegetables and Happy Quail Farms, for that added spice.

Raise a glass of farm-to-barrel brews from Almanac Beer Co., which feature produce sourced from local farms.

Pamper them with lavender sachets, massage balms, scrubs, and others lovingly made bath products from Eatwell Farm, along with aromatherapeutic hydrosols from Allstar Organics, both at the Ferry Plaza. At Jack London Square, find Wisdom by Wisdom Natural Soaps, with cupcake soaps that are sweet treats for your skin. 

And for breakfast in bed, pick up freshly squeezed orange juice and pasture-raised eggs from our local farmers, and coffee from Highwire or Sightglass.
