Rooftop Beekeeping at the Fairmont

Thursday, June 28, 2012 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm

As part of CUESA’s Honey Celebration, we’re partnering with Urban Kitchen SF for a rooftop beekeeping and honey class.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the epicurean garden and hives on The Fairmont San Francisco’s famed rooftop! After a brief intro to the bees and their history at the Fairmont San Francisco, participants will get suited up to view the hives and learn more about the bees from Marshall’s Farm Natural Honey.

The group will also sample different honeys, hear from Jesse Friedman and Damian Fagan of Almanac Beer Co. (makers of beer made using Fairmont San Francisco honey), and enjoy a demo by the Fairmont’s executive chef JW Foster, who will use freshly harvested honey from the garden. Everyone will take home a recipe booklet, as well as tips and ideas on how to get started in urban beekeeping!

Location: The Fairmont San Francisco Hotel, 950 Mason Street, San Francisco
