Food Is Art Celebration

Saturday, May 17, 2014 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Beauty abounds at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market in May. Celebrate the art of the market with a day of tasting, learning, and cooking at the CUESA Classroom.

10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Join us for a hands-on activity for the kids. We’ll be painting with edible finger paints, made with yogurt mixed with fruit and vegetable powders and juices (featuring dehydrated fruit, herbs, and vegetables from Everything Under the Sun and Tierra Vegetables). Bring the kids and be prepared to create some messy but delicious masterpieces!

Also, enjoy art-themed demos in the CUESA Classroom:

10:00 am: Learn about fabric dyeing with seasonal fruits and vegetables with Sasha Duerr, Permacouture Institute

11:00 am: Learn how to make beautiful food with Srijith Gopinathan of Campton Place

All demos and talks take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public.
