Jazz on the Rocks: Winter Cocktails of the Farmers Market

Wednesday, February 4, 2015 - 5:30pm to 8:00pm

Jazz + Cocktails = A Shared Evolution

It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing—or, in this case, a drink with a bit of a kick. Join CUESA, the local chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild, and SFJAZZ for a night of celebrating two truly American innovations: jazz and cocktails. We’re calling all you cool cats to dust off your soft-soled shoes and get your fingers ready to snap as we put the eight count back into the highball.

Through improvisation and musical inspiration, 13 of the Bay Area’s best bartenders will show us their chops using winter farmers market flavors to create some of the jazziest libations imaginable. Not to be outdone, seven chefs will follow their lead and lay down some tasty side notes.

Guests receive three full-sized signature cocktails and unlimited sample-sized drinks along with tickets for hors d’oeuvres in this walk-around tasting in the Ferry Building Grand Hall. A DJ will spin a cornucopia of jazz—from ragtime, to big band, bebop, and bossa nova—to match the flavors flowing around the room. Pick your favorite drink and vote to win prizes. We promise you won’t leave with the blues.

Proceeds from the night support CUESA’s educational initiatives and the USBG’s professional development programs.
