Grace Nguyen, Asian Box

Saturday, November 4, 2017 - 10:30am to 11:15am

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

From her childhood all the way through culinary school and beyond, Asian Box’s Executive Chef Grace Nguyen’s interest in food and cooking dictated her path in life. Asian Box brings together both her personal background and professional experiences by combining her fine dining training with her family’s Vietnamese heritage. Grace, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, most recently worked with acclaimed Chef Charles Phan as sous chef of Slanted Door and executive chef of Out the Door. She offers a fresh, aromatic menu with incredibly vibrant flavors — including sauces such as her own “Miss Jones’ Sriracha,” “Asian Street DustTM” spice blend, and housemade “Jungle Jerky.”

All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
