CUESA’s Food Shed gives curious farmers markets shoppers the opportunity to deepen their understanding of sustainable food systems. This education program includes rotating interactive exhibits that focus on a particular food issue.

Visit the Food Shed this month to dig into the topic of food waste. Did you know that 30 to 40% of food in the U.S. is wasted? Learn how you can be part of the solution. Play a culinary matching game, add artistic flair to a gallery of “ugly” fruits and veggies, find out how much we’re throwing away, and try some pickled watermelon rind to get inspired to waste less at home.

All events take place at the CUESA Classroom (look for our tent with the banner!) and are free and open to the public.

CUESA (Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture) is dedicated to cultivating a sustainable food system through the operation of farmers markets and educational programs. Learn More »
