Please join us for a conversation in the market with acclaimed nutritionist, professor, and author Marion Nestle in conversation about her latest book, Unsavory Truth, with food systems expert and Real Food Media co-founder Anna Lappé.

Marion Nestle is Paulette Goddard Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health, emerita, at New York University, and Visiting Professor of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell. She has a Ph.D. in molecular biology and an MPH in public health nutrition from UC Berkeley. She lives in New York City. She writes at, and tweets at @MarionNestle.

Anna Lappé is a national bestselling author and an internationally recognized expert on food systems. The author or co-author of three books and contributing author to a dozen more, Anna is a recipient of the James Beard Foundation Leadership Award and a TIME magazineEco Who’s Who. Her most recent book is Diet for a Hot Planet: The Climate Crisis at the End of Your Fork. Anna is the founder or co-founder of two national organizations, the Small Planet Institute and Fund and Real Food Media. At The former co-host of the PBS show, The Endless Feast, Anna also hosts the podcast, Real Food Reads and regularly speaks to audiences around the country. In addition, Anna serves as a consultant to foundations and philanthropists funding food system change and runs the food program for a family foundation based in Marin. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, after 17 years in New York City, she recently moved back to Berkeley with her husband and their two daughters.
