Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market!

Maria Gonzalez was born and raised in the Central Coast. Maria is a professionally trained chef, graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco. Her love for food and the kitchen started at a young age and her journey has led to her to now becoming a plant-based Chef. 

Maria is a business owner to Cali Dawg, an award-winning vegan hot dog business, as well as El Antojo Veganx, a project she started with her mother, to bring more plant based food options to the Central Coast. You can find Maria helping her other half, Rudy Jimenez, at Green Thumb Organics at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, where she likes to connect and recommend recipes to the public. Both she and her partner are passionate about creating and spreading knowledge about health and food. Their entrepreneurship endeavor has led them to both now being business owners of High Vibes Juice Co., where they both co-create organic cold pressed juices for everyone to enjoy. 

All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
