Gail Lillian created Liba as a second venture building off Liba Falafel, her award-winning falafel bar in Oakland. Liba is “reinventing the salad bar” at the farmers market by featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients drawing upon global culinary influences. Every topping and sauce is thoughtfully prepared to balance savory, sweet, and spicy in every bowl. Customers build their salad by choosing from a rotating selection of vegetables, proteins, grains, greens, and sauces.


Liba sources from a host of different vendors at various farmers markets and local produce distributors in the Bay Area. They have fun developing new specials each week based on seasonal fruits and vegetables that catch their fancy at the markets.  

Fun Fact

Before Liba opened in 2016, their sister company, Liba Falafel, was already considered one of the most highly regarded salad bars in the Bay Area. Sibling rivalry can be fierce!
