Norte 54

People

Raquel Goldman.

About

Norte 54 offers modern Mexican baked goods focusing on traditional pan dulce (pastries), using seasonal produce and local organic ingredients. Born in Mexico, Raquel Goldman moved to Miami at the age of five, but Mexico remained a formative part of her childhood as she returned every summer to visit her grandmother. After studying art in college and starting a family in the States, she enrolled in San Francisco Cooking School in 2018. This led to an externship and later a job at the restaurant Nopa, which deepened her interest in local produce. In 2020, she started Norte 54 as a pastry box delivery program, while popping up at farmers markets with a rotating menu of pan dulce, such as conchas, novias, and more.

Sourcing

Norte 54 sources flour from Central Milling in Petaluma, and seasonal fruit from farms like K&J Orchards and Frog Hollow Farm.

Fun Fact

Norte 54 is named for the street that Raquel’s grandmother lived on in Mexico City, where Raquel would grab pastries.

Location
