Farm History

The Metzer family has been hatching ducklings for almost 50 years at Metzer Farms in Gonzales, California. In 2017 they purchased their second farm in Hollister and started Olinday Farms, named after Olin Metzer. Olinday Farms’ vision is to produce rich, delicious, and sustainable duck eggs with the highest quality standards. On their 20-acre farm the ducks roam cage-free in open-sided buildings, where they lay their eggs. Today Olin’s son John and grandson Marc continue to grow the family’s farming legacy. As a third-generation farmer, Marc endeavors to educate and inspire home cooks and chefs across the country about the benefits of duck eggs. More recently, The Metzer family purchased Washoe Duck Valley Farm from Anthony Bordessa, the previous owner, and renamed it Olinday Farms.

Fun Fact

The original Aflac duck was hatched at Marc’s duck hatchery.
