Wisdom by Wisdom

Tory Putnam

Meisha (Wisdom) Paige along with 1 part-time employee.

In 2005, Wisdom learned to make soaps, and in 2006 she joined the Oakland Artisans Program with the City of Oakland and began selling her handcrafted soaps at City Hall. In 2009 she started selling her crafts at Bay Area holiday fairs and farmers markets. Her handmade products are made with natural ingredients that are nourishing for the skin such as pure olive oil, coconut oil, and rice bran oil, as well as butters such as shea butter and cocoa butter. Wisdom by Wisdom’s handcrafted soaps are made by hand in small batches by using the cold process and the hot process method. The soap also do not contain palm oil or animal fats.

Wisdom by Wisdom uses certified organic ingredients from local farms for some of their products. Their specials are also seasonally inspired.

Fun Fact

Wisdom teaches students and adults how to create handcrafted soap and body products. She teaches everything from the basics of soapmaking and body care products to advanced formulations, mold making, color, and design techniques.
