Marshall's Farm Natural Honey Tour
CUESA visits Marshall’s Farm Natural Honey in American Canyon, California.

Spencer Marshall tends the 600 hives.

Helene Marshall has also kept bees for many years, but now currently focuses on sales and marketing.

Spencer smokes the freshly opened hive, which makes the bees more docile.

Spencer points out the queen bee (the one with the long, darker abdomen).

A young bee hatches from its cell, head first, while a worker bee cleans out a cell.

The group tasted honey fresh out of the comb.

This machine is the uncapper, which removes the wax caps from the honey-filled cells.

The frames are then spun in the extractor, which flings the honey out of the cells.
