Make your farmers market shopping list! Here’s what’s in season this January:

Returning and Plentiful this month (weather willing): 
Green garlic, cabbage, chicories, pea shoots, pomelos, grapefruit, beets, baby carrots, blood oranges, cauliflower, lettuces, broccoli, fennel, plant starts, nettles, collard greens, tulips, flowering branches, spring onions, spinach, Meyer lemons, Brussels sprouts, chard, sorrel, mandarins, celery, turnips, radishes

Returning for the season this month:
Asparagus (Zuckerman’s Farm predicts to start harvesting in late February), Avocados (late February)

Winding down: 
Winter squash, some citrus varieties, potatoes, apples, and pears
